Haztec International Ltd

Haztec International Ltd are a manufacturer based out of Yeadon in West Yorkshire, who for more than 20 years have delivered advanced vehicle warning solutions to emergency response and safety organisations across the globe. With distribution reaching over 50 countries, their systems play a vital role in enhancing road safety worldwide. Fleet managers in law enforcement, fire services, medical response, rescue operations, recovery, and utilities rely on Haztec for top-tier visual and audio alert technologies.

Challenges

This Solar PV installation at a busy, operational factory required careful planning and coordination to ensure high safety standards were maintained and minimal disruption of the industrial environment. Our installation team worked closely with factory managers and staff to develop a safe work strategy, ensuring everyone was informed throughout each stage of the project. Maintaining clear communication was key to minimising disruption and ensuring safety on-site. One of the more complex aspects of the job was connecting the Solar system to the factory's electrical infrastructure, which required a full site-wide shutdown. To avoid interrupting production and minimise our clients’ profit, we scheduled and completed this critical work outside of operational hours, delivering a seamless transition with zero impact on day-to-day operations.

The Reroof

For this project, the client approached us with a request to perform a roof restoration, including the repair of existing leaks and ageing materials before installing the high-efficiency Solar energy system. By investing in both the roof and Solar together, the client not only avoided the inevitable repair costs down the line of the leaking roof but also positioned themselves for substantial energy savings over the lifecycle of the system.

KEY STATS

  • PV system size: 69.66kWp

  • Number of panels: 108

  • Annual kWh generation: 60MWh

The Results

Our install team successfully fit 108 645w Aiko panels paired with a 60kW Solis 3-phase inverter, which will be delivering an annual generation 60MWh of clean energy. The panels were mounted using 432 Renusol short rails and supported by 600 meters of Solar cable to ensure a reliable and efficient setup.

The Solar system will cover around 42% of Haztec’s annual energy consumption and will save the business around £600,000 on their energy bills over the course of the systems lifecycle. In around 3.5 years the savings made on energy will have fully paid off the cost of the system.
